OPTION ONE

Schools can opt to self-fund oral language PLD. There are a range of options.

Full or half day Workshop – Using a ‘Teaching as Inquiry Model” this workshop introduces the key competencies of oral literacy and provides some tools for immediate implementation.  A workshop is a great way to see if there is a need for, and a fit for a larger commitment to oral language PLD.

Suitable for: Individual schools, Communities of Learning- Kāhui Ako, School Communities -Whanau.

Cost- Half Day $600  Full Day  $1200 +gst and travel expenses.

OPTION TWO

Using the ‘Spiral of Inquiry Model’ Del will work with a school to develop a delivery plan for 12-36 months. This plan will collect data, use a broad range of resources, build links to the community and work to facilitate long term sustainable oral language development.  The same model will be used as the MOE PLD programmes require because it is a robust model that works. The only difference is that your school or COL invests in the PLD rather that it being centrally funded.

FAQ’s

What are the costs?

Costs depend on how much time you require input from Del. With this option, we can work to fit within budget constraints and find innovative ways to ensure the programmes success.

What if we have other PLD priorities and commitments?

That is the great thing with oral language, it fits right across the curriculum and there is no need to ‘wait’ until you have spare time in the PLD programme.  There are options to team up with other PLD providers to develop a powerful and effective cross curricular PLD plan.  Del works with Cognition Associates and has a broad range of contacts in all curriculum areas.  Be innovative and be collaborative!

What are some of the tools that we would have access to?

The range is huge and in the delivery plan, we will work together to create a programme that had the best fit for learners, teachers, school communities and school leaders.  Below is a list of examples:
